The explorer made the statement "I will be eaten by lions'. Now if the chief does feed him to the lions his statement will have been true, so the chief should have thrown him off the cliff. But if he is thrown off the cliff his statement will have been false. The chief had to admit the only fair course was to let him go free.

The man with the wood

The wood was in the form of sawdust. He poured it into a square box to make the cube shape, an empty paint pot to make the cylinder and a pyramid shaped box to make the pyramid.
